A Passionate Valentine's Day!

The great thing about being a Passion consultant, is I specialize in "Making Every Day Valentine's Day". So when asked to share a few ideas - this was right up my alley. Valentine's is a great time to show your partner how much you appreciate them, and start great habits that you can use year round.

1. Spend an evening with your partner - not your technology. We've all been guilty of this one. You are spending the evening with your other half, but you occasionally use your cell phone to text, play Words with Friends, or update your Facebook status. Sometimes it's nice to spend time alone. Turn your phone and laptop off, and just enjoy the one you love.

2. Go somewhere new - or old! I suggest trying a new restaurant - that will create great memories! My husband and I's first date was on Valentines' day. We went to an amazing restaurant outside of the city. The atmosphere was amazingly romantic, and we have not been back since. He often asks if he should make reservations, but because of the high expectations of the first date, I want to wait for another amazing moment. This Valentine's day will be special for us again. This Valentine's day we are expecting our first child, so it's time to go back to the place where it all began.

3. Leave a note. So often, we forget to say how we actually feel about those around us. Make sure your special someone knows just how special they are. Hallmark cards are always great - but do you ever get the feeling that they don't say EXACTLY what you meant? Try handwritten notes this year. Just knowing they are words of the heart will make them the best card ever. Feeling really ambitious - how about writing several notes and leaving them where you know your partner will find them. Try the car, next to the nightstand, or maybe a briefcase.

Overall - it's the memories that will last, long after the gifts have been eaten, broken, or lost. Make sure the person you spend your Valentine's Day with knows how special they are to you. That is what will "Make Every Day Valentine's Day."
